What We Believe
We believe a Statement of Faith adopted by a Christian Church must be informed by Scripture accurately interpreted. Our desire for this body of faith is to believe an orthodox view of sound doctrine which has stood the test of time. Below you will find summary statements regarding various doctrine.
We believe God the Father is the first Person of the Godhead. "First" as a means of order without suggesting any inferiority of the second and third Persons of the Godhead. "Father" is first indicative of the eternal relationship with the Son. Temporally, "Father" is indicative of the relationship and providential care He expresses over all creation and over those who are believers.
The Father
The Son
We believe God the Son is the second Person of the Godhead. In His deity, He is very God the eternal begotten Son. In His humanity, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin to become the incarnate Son of God. In this way the Son is unique. He is both fully God and fully human. As a man He was completely obedient to the Father. He died a substitutionary death for the sins of humanity. He was buried and resurrected on the third day for the justification of believers.
We believe God the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead. He is eternal and active in time. The revelation of His manifestation is seen in a limited manner in the OT. While His manifestation and activity in salvation are initially revealed in the NT at Pentecost as perpetual in time. Every believer receives regeneration and sanctification through the activity of the Spirit. Every believer is baptized in the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit

Scripture
We believe the Holy Bible is the word of God which was written by men divinely inspired as a means of God revealing Himself. The nature of God dictates that His revelation to humankind is absolutely true and therefore without error. Therefore, Scripture is authoritative in our lives for faith and practice.
We believe God created man in His own image as the signature of His creation. He created them male and female according to His will. The initial state of man was perfect innocence and sinlessness for a period of time. Subsequently, the initial state of man was lost as an effect of disobedience to God. Consequently, all of humanity is considered sinful and has followed in the footsteps of the first man by disobeying God personally. Resulting in the righteous condemnation of every human by God and therefore the need for salvation.
Man
Salvation
We believe that humanity's deliverance from condemnation is the promise of God for every individual who believes in the Good News regarding Jesus Christ. It involves faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. At the moment the Holy Spirit moves on the heart and spirit of an individual to believe these realities about Jesus, regeneration, justification, redemption and sanctification occur. These are the results of the acts of God that are effectual for saving the soul. The last result will be glorification.
We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus is the Head and whose members are those who have personally accepted the finished work of Christ by faith. The local church is a tangible expression of the body of Christ in a particular location. Since all members of the body of Christ are united in Christ by the same Spirit, we should live in love, harmony and unity.
